Editorial standards

Editorial Policy

Colors Encyclopedia is built as a reference system. Editorial content is written to clarify color data, not to exaggerate, manipulate rankings, or replace official standards.

Content principles

Pages should answer the user query directly before sending users to related resources. Descriptions should explain the color, use case, accessibility behavior, and dataset context in plain language.

Generated sections must remain useful: HEX pages are technical atlas nodes, named color pages are entity pages, palette pages are practical design-system references, and brand pages are independent color references with disclaimers.

Brand and trademark references

Brand color pages may reference commonly cited colors for educational, technical, comparison, and interoperability purposes. Colors Encyclopedia is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the brands referenced unless explicitly stated.

Corrections and updates

When errors or outdated references are identified, the dataset can be corrected in source records and regenerated across HTML, JSON APIs, sitemaps, and manifests. Users can report issues from the Contact page.
